The Dingle Peninsula Trip
25th May 2010
After collecting my new camera system it was time to got to Dingle.
This time it would be different. I usually stay in Killarney, Co Kerry and make a day trip to Dingle to shoot. This time around I stayed in Dingle as I wanted a couple of images early in the morning and did not like the idea of getting up very early and driving on the narrow winding roads. You have got to see some of the roads to believe them. The roads around The Slea Head drive are on the edge of the cliff face on one side and rocks sticking out on the other side. There is no way two cars can pass in places.

The top two images above was the reason for going to Dingle in the first place. Dunquin and Coumeenoole Bay where two place I have heard about and seen some image off but never being there myself. Driving down to Dingle was nice but the second I started to unpack the camera gear from the car it started to rain and did not stop raining for the next 28 hours. All I could do was sit in the window and look out over the bay.
This is Ireland and the next morning I took a pick out the window and things looked interesting. I headed out towards Dunquin. I would have a little bit time to look around as I had to wait until the sun came up over Eagle Mountain. Once this happened off to work I went at Dunquin Pier and then towards Coumeenoole Bay.

On my way back to the hotel for breakfast I noticed that the tops of the mountains were covered in snow. Snow, I must be seeing things. After a quick change and breakfast I was out again this time I went up onto The Conor Pass. On the Blog you can find more information about the Conor Pass and all the images you see here. (Link Here).
I was like a child in a sweet shop. The weather was wonderful, the landscape brilliant and the new camera system is class. I upgraded to the new Canon 5D Mk2 and the new Canon 24mm TS-E Mk2. What a combination these two make. The low-res images on the site do not do them justice. Take my word for it, on a large print they are truly magnificent.
